With the Modern Device Management (MDM) capabilities included in IT Management Suite (ITMS), you can manage Windows 10 and 11 devices without installing an agent on these devices.
You can use this management by leveraging protocols built into the respective operating systems.
For more advanced use cases, you can use the Symantec Management Agent side-by-side with the MDM capabilities.
The MDM capabilities enable you to create policies that can either install profiles that define the values for various configuration and management settings, or that install applications. You can also use the MDM capabilities to execute a limited set of actions/tasks on devices.
MDM policies and actions initiated within the Symantec Management Console are first communicated to an MDM Server. The MDM Server then communicates the policy information and commands to devices. Information collected from devices is communicated back to the MDM Server, where it is aggregated, and then transmitted to the Notification Server.
Usage Scenario:
- Allows to manage Devices through MDM only or in combination with the Symantec Management Agent
- Support for ADMX and ADML Files
- Support for Custom Profile (also known as OMA-URIs)
